Keywords in top 5 position?

Hello Friends,
I have been working on one of the SEO project from past few months and by working consistently on this I had achieved my first target that is to bring all the keywords on top ten position but now I am focusing to bring these in top 5 position and some of the techniques which I am using are directory submission, social bookmarking, forum posting, blogging, article submission etc., Still by using all these techniques the keywords are not yet stable on their position for example one of the keyword was on position 4 and now it has dropped down to position 7. Please suggest some techniques which can be helpful to bring all the keywords in top 5 positions and make them stable.

If you want to top five position your website keyword then first your write fresh and informative content with minimum keyword density. Second thing is do quality link building and website video share with social media sites. Then improve your rich snippet at google search reconsult page.

Basically it all depends on the competition on your niche.
if its less comp its easy to rank top. Else what monte said would work..

I agree with you josh keyword position is depends on competition on your keyword. So first check your competitor keyword or website.

If you are doing all techniques and you are not in top five positions then now there is a need of getting backlinks from .gov,.edu and .net sites. For this you have to do blog commenting on these sites and get some links.
