Josh, Nice article, Alexa Rank is not everything i agree…but I really keep a track of it always..i wished if Google had some Traffic rankings as well similar to the google PR.

Thankyou, Regarding your question, i agree its a rough measure of your traffic, Also agree that all are measured under the same lines, But carefully see the below points and you would get what i meant.
1. Most webmasters have Alexa tool bars installed, so a webmaster related website would have better Alexa rankings
2. When you go down the rank that ie.. Better the alexa rank the accuracy would be better.

Hi Josh,
A very well written article with so much of details, Thanks a ton for the detailed approach in explaining why and why not you should at Alexa rank. Personally i Do look at alexa rank everyday, jus beacuse thats very encouraging for me to work on my blog. Its true that it does not give the real picture.. But the rough idea is enough rite? when every one is measured on the alexa plugin?

Am not saying alexa rank is not important, dont take it that way, its a rough calculation of how a website is doing. But page rank, work on it and your content with the tips ive given. All the best .
