What is a FavIcon and How to create one for your website.

At one point of time, i have always seen a Icon for some websites only when some websites open they have a cute lil icon on the left of the address bar ! and i oo wanted one of my own So i learned how to have one for my website too !

Its very simple, lets see how ! A Fav Icon looks like the above image i have attached !

Preparing a Fav Icon is even Simple

Generate Fav Icon

After you’ve created a neat favicon, it’s time to add it to your site. To do so, follow the below simple procedure:

1. Upload the generated file (“favicon.ico”) to your site. Verify it’s there by typing http://mysite.com/favicon.ico in the browser’s location, where “mysite.com” is your site’s address.
2. Next, insert the below code in the HEAD section of your pages, at the very least, your site’s main index page:

   <link rel="shortcut icon" type="image/x-icon" href="/favicon.ico">

3. That’s it! Note that your favicon may not appear immediately after you’ve completed the above two steps. In fact, it may take a few days.

   Dear Sir,…I need a small help from you…My Favicon not working after installing Wibiya…its turn to blogger icon…how i change it????…

     Dear Priya,

     The Wibiya website has a control panel within that gives you the option to control the favicon. Try checking that side.
