Am writing this Blog post from my personal experience of seeing that there have been a huge number of ad-blocker scripts, programs and toolbars on the web now-a-days.

What does ad-blocker do?
Just as it reads, Ad blockers block ads on a webpage. Since there are a lot of websites that place ads on their page in most annoying manner. Thats how these programs started to become a big hit.

Now the Down-Side

There are 1000s of Top Quality blogs on the internet offering great information. Now how do these blogs stay alive, Its Ads!! And the ad-blocker concept would eventually kill these good blogs. Hence personally i feel select blogs that offer good content and do not mix ads with contents and offer great content.

In honor of Pac-Man’s 30th anniversary, today’s Google

 logo is in the form of a game of Pac-Man and the game is so well developed that it could be played from the GIF image that you can see on the google homepage.  On clicking on “insert coin” it would enable multiplayer and also features to go upto 250 plus levels. Isnt that great ?

This particular Doodle has given us few minutes of our web life to go back years ago when we used to play the PAC MAN game with all the interest on this world, fighting with friends to get a chance to play your turn, amazing childhood and amazing game. Cheers to Pac man and Google.

Latest PageRank update (PR) – Update 31 December 2009

1st PR update in 2010 : 31 March – 1 April 2010
2nd PR update in 2010 : 31 June – 1 July 2010
3rd PR update in 2010 : 31 September – 1 October 2010
4th PR update in 2010 : 31 December – 1 January 2011

 So as per the Schedule, It was observed that there was a PR update on the websites as well as on the PR Tools that google has made a PR updates on many websites.

When is the next Google Pagerank update Or Google PR Update?

Assuming you have that you have reached this page because you already know what is a page rank, Let me continue..
PageRank values vary from 0 – 10, PR0 being the least and PR10 the Highest valued.

The first PR update this year was on the 2010 New year. And as per the previos google PR update pattern, we could expect the next PR update in between march 31st to April mid. Ideally there would be 4 PR updates from google a year.

2nd PR update in 2010 : 31 June – 1 July 2010

Here is a small but very very handy tip to save your adsense account from being banned. If you have your own website and dont want to get your adsense account locked by accidently clicking on the ads, then disable it on your computer easily..

1. Open your hosts file using Notepad.
Depending on version of Windows you’re using,

Windows 95 – C:windows
Windows 98 – C:\windows
Windows Me – C:\windows
Windows 2000 – C:windows\system32\drivers\etc
Windows XP – C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
Windows NT – C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc
Windows Vista – C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc

2. add the below code at the bottom of your file

Basically Google does not come to you and say “hey you have a new website, let me index it.!”
you would have to work on getting it indexed, you need to intro your website to google through some website google already knows. Just like you intro your girlfriend to your mom lol (its a lot easier than that though)

1. submit to social bookmarking websites.
2. submit to directories
3. ping using www.pingoat.com
4. submit to direcories.
5. link exchange with websites in your niche
6. submit to google directory
7. Sign up for google webmaster tool and submit website and Sitemap
8. Submit to ezinearticles.com
9. Submit to press release websites.
